Esquel sets leadership example for Chinese suppliersPosted: June 29, 2011 | |
This is a guest post by Tammy Rodriguez, Esquel Group.
Esquel has been a member of the Fair Labor Association since 2008 and was one of the first companies to join the association as a participating supplier. As the largest Chinese exporter of woven shirts, Esquel’s customers include many brands in the United States and Europe, several of whom are also company affiliates of the FLA. Esquel’s commitment to fair labor and environmental sustainability, as you’ll see in the PBS clip (below), is guided from the top of the organization – it is embedded at the executive level and flows down throughout all levels of managers, staff, and employees. Esquel firmly believes that we must continue seeking innovative solutions and finding ways to improve labor conditions, protect the environment, and deliver the best quality and most socially responsible products we can.
